May 2013: Terri
Q. Firstly, how and when did you become a Doctor Who fan?
A. The first time I saw Doctor Who was the end of The Water of Mars. I started watching it whenever I could catch an episode, but they were all mixed up and out of order so I was confused quickly, though all the episodes I saw were with David Tennant. So, I got Netflix and over the period of one week, watched Seasons 1, 2, 3 and 4. I then picked up watching it weekly with Matt Smith.
I am now working my way through the classic Doctor Who on Netflix.
Q. Series 7: Part 2 continues to thrill us every Saturday night with epic stories and terrifying monsters. What have been your highlights of the Doctor and Clara's adventures thus far?
A. I like Clara. I like the mystery of her. I also think she is the best match companion-wise for the Doctor since Rose.
Q. 23rd November 2013 will mark 50 glorious years of Doctor Who and it's been confirmed that David Tennant and Billie Piper will be returning as part of a special 3D anniversary adventure! Are you excited to see the Tenth Doctor and Rose again?
A. They say you never forget your first Doctor, and David was my first. So, yes, I am excited.
Q. Who/what else would you like to see in the anniversary special?
A. I think all the past Doctors should be in the special. I think that Martha and Mickey and Jack should be there too. It would also be nice to see Donna and her grandfather as well.
Q. Which Doctor Who character - past or present - would you say you relate to most?
A. I would have to say Clara. She doesn't just blindly follow the Doctor and doesn't panic. I'm like that. When there is a crisis, I just handle it and do what needs to be done.
Q. If you could "borrow" one prop from the series, what would it be and why?
A. The control room from the Tenth's Doctor's TARDIS. I loved that setup. I would figure out a room to put it in so that the door into it looked like just a small entry, a normal size TARDIS, then when you went in, it opened into the full sized TARDIS control room.
Q. What's your favourite item of Doctor Who merchandise that you own?
A. My sonic screwdriver keychain flashlight. I use it all the time at night to find the lock on my front door.
Q. What would you say is the best thing about being a Doctor Who fan?
A. Finding other Whovians, especially when it is someone who you know and you didn't even realize they were a Whovian.
Q. Finally, anything else you'd like to say before you go?
A. I may not have as big of a Doctor Who collection as some other fans, but not a day goes by that Doctor Who isn't a part of my life.
I love to have my daughter give me a quote and then I have to tell her the episode it is from. 99% of the time, I can get it within a few minutes. Of course, she gets frustrated and tells me I watch Doctor Who too much.
