Setting: New New York on New Earth, mankind's new home, in the year five billion and twenty-three in the M87 galaxy.
Filming: Filming for this episode took place in Cardiff. Harsh weather conditions resulted in filming being cancelled half-way through the shoot. Because of this, the cast came back months later to film and re-do certain scenes and sequences, which is why David and Billie's hair changes length at various points throughout the story. Scenes on New Earth were shot on the south coast of Wales, at the Gower peninsula. Scenes inside the hospital basement were filmed at Tredegar House in Newport. The Millenium Centre in Cardiff was also used for hospital interior scenes.
