  • This episode reintroduces the character of Donna Noble, played by Catherine Tate, last seen in The Runaway Bride. The Doctor's previous companion, Rose Tyler, last seen in Doomsday, also makes a short cameo appearance at the end of the episode.
    • The scene featuring Rose wasn't included in the preview tapes handed out to the press. Only David Tennant, Catherine Tate and Billie Piper had seen it, and her cameo in the episode was kept top secret until it was finally broadcast to the unsuspecting public.
