Planet of the Ood
Series 4 Episode 3
Donna Noble visits her first alien world - the Ood Sphere, but the planet reveals some terrible and shocking truths about the human race.
Trivia
  • It's worth noting that the Ood-Sphere is in the same solar system as the Sense-Sphere, the home planet of the Sensorites, which featured in the story 'The Sensorites' (1964). The Ood and Sensorites are probably in some way related because of this.
  • This episode marks the return of the Ood, last seen in The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit.
Memorable Quotes
  • Solana Mercurio: Doctor Noble, Mrs. Noble, if you'd like to come with me?
The Doctor: Oh, no. No, no, no! We're not married.
    Donna Noble: So not married.
    The Doctor: Never.
    Donna: Never, ever!
  • The Doctor: Ood, tell me. Does 'the Circle' mean anything to you?
The Ood: The Circle must be broken.
    Donna: Whoa! That is creepy...
The Doctor: But what is it? What is the Circle?
The Ood: The Circle must be broken!
    The Doctor: Why?
The Ood: So that we can sing!
  • Ood Sigma: I think your song must end soon.
    The Doctor: Meaning?
Ood Sigma: Every song must end.
