The Doctor has regenerated into a brand new man, but danger strikes before he even has time to recover. He has just 20 minutes to save the whole world – with only Amy Pond to help him.
Trivia
  • The Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith)'s first full-length episode. We also meet new companion, Amy Pond (Karen Gillan), as well as her boyfriend, Rory Williams (Arthur Darvill).
  • This episode also introduced a brand new version of theme tune to the series, as well as a revamped title sequence. We also saw the new TARDIS interior on screen for the first time.
  • In Amelia's bedroom at the start of the episode, the new Doctor quotes his previous incarnation on two occasions. First, he says "You've had some cowboys in here..." (The Girl in the Fireplace), and then he says "wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey" (Blink). Interestingly, both of these are lines taken from episodes that were also penned by Steven Moffat.
  • This episode was previewed to the press in Cardiff on 18th March 2010.
  • Worldwide broadcasts for this episode include 17th April in the US and Canada, and on 18th April in Australia.
