Who franchise.
» Getting to know you
WhovianNet.co.uk
has become one of the fastest growing Doctor Who fansites
since it launched in late 2006 as a Piczo site. Since then,
we've gone through two different name changes, and our Piczo
website, then called 'Last Of The Time Lords', managed fairly
well despite the lack of features that the free website
builder offered to us. We
soon became one of the most visited Doctor Who fansites
on Piczo, and we were also the founding member of The Doctor
Who Piczo Network, a website which, as the name suggests,
brought together a network of fellow Doctor Who Piczo fansites.
In
2007, as the third series of Doctor Who arrived, so did
our desire to move from Piczo altogether; we found ourselves
unable to come up with a decent design which we a) liked
and b) could keep for over a week! We needed to change
- and that we did... And in July 2007, our Piczo site
closed forever, and we didn't return until September 2007,
sporting a brand spanking new domain - WhovianNet.co.uk
- and a fresh PHP website. It felt great to finally be
back!
» The future
The future for Doctor Who is certainly looking bright,
with the fifth series commissioned for transmission in
2010 and no doubt many more will follow - unless the series
suddenly takes a drastic dip in the ratings, which isn't
likely!
But as long as the Doctor is on our screens, we'll be
here bringing you the latest news, discussions and information.
We'd like to thank you all for your continued support!
